“Price rises to £350 in August.”

Next cohort starts 10th July 2026. Places are limited to 6 — once they’re gone, they’re gone.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Sound familiar?

The training gets you to the certificate.

Nobody tells you what happens next.

If any of these sound like you, the Launchpad was built with you in mind.

"

I’ve passed my DEA qualification but I have no idea where to find my first clients.

"

I’m worried about pricing — I don’t want to undersell myself, but I’m scared of charging too much.

"

I want to approach local agents and landlords but I don’t know how to do it professionally.

"

I’m doing it all alone. I need someone who’s actually done this to point me in the right direction.

WHAT WE COVER

Four weeks. Four turning points.

Each DEA mentoring programme session is 60 minutes live online,

Designed to give you the clarity and tools to move forward immediately — not eventually.

  • Week 1 — From qualified to ready

Mindset, professional setup, and what good looks like. You’ll leave week one knowing exactly what a credible DEA business looks like from the outside — and how to build one from the inside.

  • Week 2 — Finding your first clients

The routes that actually work: estate agents, letting agents, landlords, and direct channels. Practical, honest, and based on what experienced DEAs do — not what looks good in a webinar.

  • Week 3 — Pricing and communicating your value

How to price your work with confidence, how to explain your value clearly, and how to avoid the race to the bottom that traps too many new assessors.

  • Week 4 — Building momentum

Sustainable habits, repeat business, and how to avoid the feast-or-famine cycle. This is the session that turns a good start into a real business.

EVERYTHING INCLUDED

More than just four sessions

Every element of the DEA mentoring programme is designed to support you between sessions, not just during them.

  • 4 live group sessions

60 minutes each, online. Interactive, not broadcast.

  • Cohort WhatsApp group

Ask questions and share progress between sessions.

  • Weekly resources

Downloadable checklists, templates, and guides each week.

  • CPD certificate

Verifiable on completion. Counts toward your annual CPD.

  • Maximum 6 places

Deliberately small so everyone gets meaningful attention.

  • Peer cohort

You’ll be with other newly qualified DEAs at exactly the same stage.

About your mentor

Taught by someone who’s done it — and still does.

John Allen has been a practising Domestic Energy Assessor since 2013 and has run Bluewire Hub since 2014. He has been delivering training and mentoring to DEAs and retrofit assessors since 2023.

But the experience behind the Launchpad goes back further than that.

Before Bluewire Hub, John spent several years in senior operational and compliance roles in the energy and retrofit sector. As ECO Project Manager, he led delivery of a £6.5 million ECO programme — taking audit compliance results from 40% to 90% within two months, implementing quality control processes, and chairing stakeholder reporting meetings. Before that, as Operations and Compliance Manager, he led multi-discipline teams delivering renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures for housing associations, local authorities, and commercial clients, maintaining PAS 2030 and MCS certification throughout.

He also spent time in the wider commercial world, managing a £5 million programme of new product development for one of the countries largest builders merchants producing board-level briefing documents and applying structured project management methodology to demanding timelines and budgets.

The Launchpad draws on all of it — the technical sector knowledge, the compliance and audit experience, and the commercial discipline. What you get isn’t generic business coaching dressed up in DEA language. It’s mentoring from someone who has operated at every level of this industry, and who understands precisely what it takes to build a professional, sustainable practice.

If you have any questions why not book a free 30-minute consultation.

“I just wanted to say a massive thank you — I’m absolutely certain I would have given up in the summer had I not found you and taken up your mentoring service. A massive thank you for your patience and support.”

Esther W.

The whole process was a positive experience to take part in, it vastly improved my knowledge over a short period of time.

Ruiari F.

This Service has been a god send as a new assessor. Got peace of mind with my first lodged EPC for Audit, discussed others that I was unsure of and saved some of the service offered for my first out of the ordinary, gigantic, complicated old house. Definitely feeling more confident moving forward that I did when first qualifying. Big thanks to John! And highly recommend to new Assessors!

DEA mentoring programme questions?

What if the programme isn’t right for me?2026-06-06T17:26:41+01:00

If you have any questions before committing, please reach out first. We are happy to have a short conversation to help you decide whether this programme is the right fit for where you are.

What accreditation schemes does the programme support?2026-06-06T17:25:54+01:00

The programme supports DEAs registered with all recognised accreditation bodies, ECMK, Elmhurst, Sterling and Quidos. The professional practice content is relevant regardless of which scheme you are registered with.

How do I find work as a newly qualified DEA?2026-06-06T17:17:33+01:00

The most effective routes for newly qualified DEAs are estate agents, letting agents, and direct landlords. Setting up a Google Business Profile and getting visible in your local area also accelerates things significantly. The Launchpad covers all of these routes in detail during week two, with practical approaches rather than generic advice.

How often do courses run?2026-06-07T14:53:59+01:00

The next DEA Launchpad cohort runs on Friday mornings: 10, 17, 24 and 31 July 2026 at 10:00am.

Places are limited to 6. A second cohort follows in August 2026 — Fridays 7, 14, 21 and 28 August.

Is online mentoring as effective as face-to-face?2026-06-06T17:20:19+01:00

For the business development and professional practice content covered in the Launchpad, online delivery works very well. Sessions are live and interactive, not pre-recorded. The cohort WhatsApp group provides ongoing support between sessions. For those who want hands-on site visit support, one-to-one face-to-face sessions can be arranged separately.

How many people are in each cohort?2026-06-06T17:18:48+01:00

Each cohort is deliberately limited to a maximum of 6 participants. This ensures every learner gets meaningful interaction time, can ask questions freely, and receives focused support — rather than being one of fifty people in a large webinar.

What is the DEA Launchpad programme?2026-06-06T17:16:46+01:00

The DEA Launchpad is a 4-week online group mentoring programme for newly qualified Domestic Energy Assessors. It covers everything the qualification doesn’t: how to find clients, how to price your work, how to approach agents and landlords, and how to build sustainable working habits. Each cohort is limited to 6 participants and includes live sessions, a WhatsApp support group, weekly resources, and a CPD certificate on completion.

Is there CPD available for domestic energy assessors?2026-06-06T17:18:13+01:00

Yes. The DEA Launchpad is CPD certificated with verifiable learning outcomes. On completion you receive a CPD certificate that counts toward your annual CPD requirements. The programme covers professional practice, business development, client communication, and sustainable working habits.

Who delivers the DEA Mentoring programme?2026-06-06T17:24:44+01:00

John has been a practising DEA since 2013 and brings a background in senior operational and compliance roles across the energy and retrofit sector. As ECO Project Manager he led a £6.5 million ECO programme, taking audit compliance from 40% to 90% within two months. As Operations and Compliance Manager he led multi-discipline teams delivering renewable technologies and energy efficiency measures for housing associations, local authorities, and commercial clients. He also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management and a Level 3 CAVA qualification, has delivered DEA and retrofit assessor training since 2023, written training material for SAVA, and presented at the SAVA Expo.
